Selects the standard dictionary to use in checking spelling. Standard dictionaries in the Word Commands folder are available in the list.
Creates and names a new custom dictionary. The new dictionary is empty until you add words to it during spelling checks.
Opens a custom dictionary stored in a folder other than Word Commands, on another disk, or on an AppleTalk file server. Custom dictionaries in the Word Commands folder are automatically listed in the box.
Opens the selected custom dictionary file so you can view and delete words and phrases.
Lists available custom dictionaries. A check mark indicates the dictionary is open for checking spelling. Click in the column to the left to add or clear a check mark.
Automatically suggests alternative spellings for misspelled words. If you clear this option, you can display suggested spellings by choosing the Suggest button in the Spelling dialog box.
Ignores words typed in uppercase letters, but still checks words capitalized with the All Caps or Small Caps character formats. Useful if you use acronyms.
Ignores any group of characters containing a number. Useful if your document contains number and letter combinations such as 2nd, 30mg, or 140K.
Clears the list of words chosen with the Ignore All button in the Spelling dialog box.
